A Transistor is a basic electronic component that alters the flow of electrical current. It regulates current/voltage flow and acts as a switch or gate for electronic signals.

Nowadays, in the digital world, a transistor is used as a binary switch. Transistors are fundamental building blocks in computer circuitry, processors, or CPUs . Modern CPUs contain millions of individual transistors that are microscopic.
